Time Management Tip: Be proactive, then reactive

The world is desperate to stop you from doing quality work.

We are bombarded with emails, last minute requests and meeting invites which stop us focusing on what is important in our jobs and we end up serving other people’s agendas first. 

We will only deliver projects and quality work if we find a way to prioritise our work first.  

Three suggestions to help you be proactive and work on your priorities before reacting to others requests:

  1. At the end of the day write down your 3 top priorities for the following day. 
  2. In the morning, work on your most important priority first, before supporting others.
  3. Most email is reacting to other peoples priorities.  Don’t touch it before 10:00am.
