Workplace dilemmas, tackled with colour and clarity.

Introducing a new feature from The Squeeze, where Angela draws on her wealth of experience to offer practical, no-nonsense advice through the lens of Insights Discovery.

Dear Angela,

My team has recently attended an Insights Discovery workshop and the session went really well. People were engaged, open, and seemed to take a lot from it.

Now we’re back into the day to day, I’m conscious that I don’t want it to fade into the background. At the same time, I don’t want to force it or turn it into something that feels like an initiative.

As a manager, what’s a good first step to keep Insights alive in the team?

– A Manager Who Doesn’t Want It to Fade

Dear A Manager Who Doesn’t Want It to Fade,

You’re asking exactly the right question. Wanting to keep Insights alive without forcing it is often what makes it work.
The most effective place to start is by modelling it yourself. You don’t need to run another session or introduce new tools. Simply show how you’re using Insights in real moments.

Once that’s in place, a few light-touch actions can help keep the learning visible without adding pressure:

  • Use small IT nudges. Tools like the Insights app for Microsoft Teams can offer gentle reminders, quick prompts, and easy access to preferences in the flow of work.
  • Build it into 1:1s. A simple profile share in a one to one meeting can deepen understanding and keep conversations practical and human.
  • Use short team activities. Brief interactive exercises in team meetings help reinforce the learning without turning it into a separate session.

Keep the focus on everyday moments rather than theory. A quick check in, a shared reflection, or a small adjustment in how work is approached is often enough.

Over time, those small moments build a shared way of working. That’s when Insights stops feeling like something you did and starts becoming something you use.

Warm regards,
Angela
